Alice Faye (born May 5, 1915; died May 9, 1998) was a America actress & singer. She was natural Alice Jeane Leppert to Charley (the officer of German descent) and Alice Leppert (an Irish-American) in New York City. She mass produced her amusement debut as a showgirl in Vaudeville, moving on to Broadway in the George White Scandals.
Adopting her stage title, Faye come to prominence in radio in The Fleischmann Hour (1932-1934) by having Rudy Vallee and his Connecticut Yankees. Vallee got besides appeared in the George White Scandals of 1931.
Faye's film break occurred inside 1933 whenever Lillian Harvey walked out on the lead role in the picture ''George White's Scandals. Faye was originally engaged to perform the musical total by owning Vallee however was elevated to the star role. She became the popular favorite by using cinema audiences of the Thirties, especially from either 1936 while producer Darryl F. Zanuck made a deliberate effort to soften her image from that of a wise cracking showgirl.
